Social Media-New Age Era

Covid era was the time when all started getting wings of their skills. People who had never cooked suddenly became chefs, people who had never painted became artists etc. Basically it all became possible as all had time to develop their skill sets sitting at home and having special moments with their families. While this era also snatched jobs from a lot of people. People were dying more from hunger than the epidemic. As it is said "Business idea develops from problem solving." It paved the way for the new era of Social Media Influencers.

It is not that the term did not exist earlier but the way pandemic was bringing the word closer through social media was a revolution in itself. It was a way of earning money by showcasing your talent. It could be anything - Making designer gowns to creating music with dialogues as long as it could make you stop at its channel and make you watch them. As we all were somehow depended on social media formats our day to day activities as everything was on a closure mode even a small video on how to make your eyebrow at home could fetch views. Urban citizens who were in a habit of ordering food from outside, every second day was forced to satiate their tastebuds through home cooked food which tasted like restaurants taking help of these social media food bloggers or youtubers. A group of health conscious people trying to keep the disease away in the best possible way were busy following the yoga or exercises demonstrated on the social media.

Those days are finally gone and finally we have come out of our houses but the trend of earning through social media is still prevailing or in-fact growing more now. Some have come in a habit of work from home mode post pandemic, left jobs and have become full time youtubers or influencers, some are managing jobs and content development simultaneously, well who does not like some extra income? While this field of Social media content developers has been highlighted  more due to award functions organized by the government to felicitate  these influencers, glamourized by influencers or fans summits organized by these various mediums including live concerts  , lavish food and customized goodies etc, because of which more and more people want to get associated with these platforms. These are not only a good way of earning but also a nice way of connecting with  people which open gates for other mediums for these influencers like brand modelling, advertising and even entry in bollywood or OTT series once their faces become  popular.

This is one of the reasons why we see that these channels are growing in such a way that like FB accounts, instagram accounts, everyone has a you-tube account where they share anything like what they ate, where they went, when they ate and every single thing and they have followers too who take them as their inspiration. Children below 13 Years of age have channel operated by their parents trying to fetch subscribers while 8th and 9th standard students along with having a good future also have a motive of hitting a certain number of subscribers in a particular month .

The social media which once served the purpose of problem solving upon typing some content is now filled with excessive information most of which is useless and coming from number of channels and accounts which may suddenly pop up due to maximum number of hits maybe due to some odd thumbnail. Content creation  is now becoming creativity with zero content. Because of the multiple channels and account openings, the productive and informative content is somewhere getting lost. On one hand there are random viewers passing filthy comments on someone's profile or video  on the other hand some youtubers with so called funny video channels hitting million subscribers are filled with excessively abusive language in the name of creating comedy. In a country like India , there should be a certain board or group to keep a check on the social media, should have proper guidelines, even OTT platforms should not get an open space to show or promote anything which is inappropriate as there is no censor board involved. Influencers giving misleading information or showing inappropriate content should be immediately stopped. People  performing dangerous stunts to attract views should not be promoted as it not only kills large number of such performers or makes them handicapped but also highly impacts kids and teen-agers who try to recreate those stunts falling a prey to mis happenings destroying families.

Content Creation is not just a money making business but it also comes with a responsibility. Influencers highly impact the lives of their viewers who follow them thoroughly so anything which is posted should be properly thought over. Similarly people posting their comments on someone's hard work also have a moral responsibility of thinking and writing without hurting any one's sentiments or targeting through personal or derogatory comments. Like we say every thing has positive and negative aspects, internet is an open platform, something which goes viral today, may be forgotten tomorrow. Someone who is celebrated today may be trolled tomorrow. Trends come and go, world remains same...it is time to make some change through social media for a better society, a better world to live -great things can be achieved by social media, lets  make a difference..

Outbursts of hidden talent of an individual is quite astonishing but on the other hand, these hidden talents might tackle someone in a hurdle/problem because these publicity attract the kids and teens most probably.

Social media should be used for betterment of society but in positive way
Social media is beneficial for money making but it becomes more harmful for people . As already mentioned on the name of content creation abusive language and misinformation is passed very quickly through these platform .
The call for stricter oversight on social media and content creation highlights the urgent need for responsible engagement, emphasizing that influencers and users alike must prioritize ethical standards over sensationalism. By fostering a culture of accountability, we can create a safer online environment that promotes positive values.
The blog gives a clear view of how social media has changed over time, especially after the pandemic. It talks about both the good and bad sides of content creation and how influencers impact people. The writer also suggests the need for rules to keep content responsible and ethical. It's insightful and relevant!

During the COVID lockdowns, a lot of people discovered new talents and turned to social media to share them, which was amazing to see. But with so much content now, it's hard to filter out what's actually meaningful, and sometimes it feels like quantity is overtaking quality. There's a real need for influencers to think about the responsibility they have, especially with younger audiences. Social media can be a great tool, but It can be compared to the use of authority, we need to be careful about how it's used and the impact it's having on ourselves and others as well.

The COVID era allowed people to explore new skills, leading to a rise in social media influencers. While this offered new opportunities, it also filled platforms with excessive content, some of it harmful. As social media continues to grow, there’s a need for responsible content creation to ensure it brings positive change and not just clutter.

During the COVID era, people explored new skills, leading to the rise of social media influencers. While many used platforms like YouTube to share useful content, the flood of low-quality and harmful content also grew. Influencers have a responsibility to share positive and safe content, as they impact many lives. Social media should be used to make a positive difference in society.

I think we should not share our personal life on social media because it is not the correct platform to showcase our personal informations. I think personality of individual is totally different from what he/she want to showcase.

Point to bring social media is the name it self "social" in which the main aim to connect with new people with the similar idea this was the idea back then . As the time changes it also become the Platform to show your skill but the problem arise when the perspective changes from serving to earning. Thats make the media in social media" cringe " and irrelevant. It become the hub of easy money . Which take away the main idea of social media of social to individuality.

Today's generation is highly influenced by people they see on social media. They spend most of their times comparing themselves to people they see on the screen rather than actually working towards achieving their dreams. Social Media is merely a bridge that helps you reach your dream destination.

The blog refreshes our memory of covid era. Starting from covid era it dives deep into social media has evolved in a negative way. Firstly, how people used to grab opportunities through social media to how social media is becoming a content with zero creativity and giving rise to loads of harmful actions. The blog also emphasize on how such thing should be controlled. It is quite impressive to know all aspects of social media and to also discuss the controls to be put on.
